Philip Tubb 

Philip is a specialist in the structuring, negotiation, documentation and execution of large ticket asset financings, holding 30years of asset finance transactional experience.

Big ticket financings are often highly sensitive to the combined effect of the interaction of commercial, legal documentation, tax, accounting and product issues.  Philip's skill base includes a detailed understanding of these structuring building blocks - both technically and in terms of market norms - which provides the basis for creating solutions to commercial and technical challenges for the benefit of both end client and funder.
Philip's asset finance experience spans the full range of asset types including all classes of industrial plant, infrastructure (including power stations and water/sewage processing), transportation (including air, rail, marine, road), IT and real estate. Marine extends from inshore commercial craft up to FPSO's and deep draft ocean-going vessels. In addition, specific areas of in-depth specialism include :

• Aviation Finance - Aircraft finance on structures varying from full op lease to highly structured debt. Aircraft range from wide-body jets to down to corporate jets and turboprops and from light helicopters to entire heavy lift fleets.  Clients have included flag carrier airlines, aviation services providers, UHNWI's and aircraft lessors.
• Cross Border - Extensive experience in structuring and executing transactions for assets located abroad and for multi-jurisdictional structures across the globe.
• Specialist Structuring - Substantial record in bespoke deal structuring including tax optimisation, balance sheet metrics, Sharia Finance and structures targeting one-off client drivers. 

Aside from direct transactional experience, Philip has also held significant team leadership responsibility, including creation of and thought-leadership on bank processes, and has held directorships of over 100 bank leasing subs and SPV's. 

Outside of his City activity, Philip is the co-proprietor of a farming and diversified land business and continues to devote his time towards the management and further development of this business. Philip holds a Bsc in Banking & Finance, is married with two children and, in his spare time, is an active outdoorsman.
